The full NBA season comes out Wednesday, Aug. 17. But, fans will have at least one day where no NBA games are played, Election Day.

On Tuesday, the league announced no games will be played on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022. The choice was made as the NBA focuses “on promoting nonpartisan civic engagement and encouraging fans to make a plan to vote during midterm elections.”

Through Nov. 8, teams also plan to educate fans on “their state’s voting process and voter registration deadlines” in preparation of Election Day.

Preseason schedules were announced last week. The Sacramento Kings face off against the Los Angeles Lakers twice, the Portland Trail Blazers and the Phoenix Suns. The Kings open the regular season at home against the Trail Blazers on Oct. 19.
