Kyle Muller, the Oakland A’s opening day starter, is heading to Las Vegas.
No, he’s not brokering a deal between the team and state lawmakers for a new stadium.
The team announced Tuesday that Kyle Muller has been optioned to their Triple-A affiliate, the Las Vegas Aviators.
Muller is 1-4 with an 8.04 ERA and .962 opponents OPS in 10 starts for the A’s. In Monday’s 11-2 loss to the Seattle Mariners, Muller gave up eight hits and six earned runs through five innings pitched. Through nearly two months of play, he’s allowed the most hits (69) and is tied for third in runs allowed (42).

After Monday’s game, Oakland A’s manager Mark Kotsay said Muller has had a rough season so far.
“The inability to kind of mix the changeup now is really hurting him. He has a changeup that he throws, but not for a strike right now… We’re going to continue to work on that with Kyle and continue to try to make progress,” Kotsay said.

The A’s also reinstated right-handed pitcher Trevor May from the injured list. May was placed on the 15-day injured list on April 19 with issues related to anxiety. Before leaving the team, he was 2-3 with a 12.00 ERA in eight games.
