You aren’t dreaming. The Oakland Athletics are on a winning streak.

For just the second time this season, the A’s have claimed a season series win following Tuesday’s walk-off win over the National League East powerhouse Atlanta Braves, winning by a final of 2-1 at the Coliseum.

With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the ninth inning, Jonah Bride tapped a routine ground ball to Braves third baseman Austin Riley–an event that could have resulted in an inning-ending double-play.

Instead, the All-Star bobbled, then dropped the ball, allowing Seth Brown to score on the error and give the A’s a second-straight win for the first time since May 5th and 6th when Oakland took a three-game set against Kansas City.

“You got to think at some point he’s going to groove one,” Bride said of Atlanta closer Raisel Iglesias. “I saw a fastball up. Obviously trying to hit it in the air, but I got on top of it. But I’ve always heard good things happen when you put it in play. And that was the case tonight.”

A’s manager Mark Kotsay had plenty of positive things to say following his team’s second winning streak of the season:

“Winning a series feels good,” Kotsay said. “It’s something that we’ve had a hard time with, obviously. Wins build confidence. As much work and preparation as these guys do, you still need that win to support that the work is paying off.”

The Oakland pitching staff posted its second-straight dominant performance while holding the dangerous Braves offense to just one run on four hits while striking out five batters and walking one.

During the first two games of this three-game series, the A’s have held Atlanta to 3 runs (1.50 ERA) and a .161 batting average.

Can Oakland claim its first series sweep of the season? We’ll find out today when James Kaprielian takes the mound against Jared Shuster at 12:37 pm PST.
