The Oakland Raiders had a busy offseason.
The biggest move was the team’s acquisition of Davante Adams. The Raiders acquired the All-Pro receiver from the Green Bay Packers in exchange for draft picks. The team then signed Adams to an extension worth $140 million over five years.
The team also hired a couple of former Patriots to run the team. Dave Ziegler replaced Mike Mayock as the new general manager and the Raiders officially named Josh McDaniels as their head coach after former coach Jon Gruden was let go in the middle of the 2021 season.
Lincoln Kennedy, a former offensive lineman for the Raiders and current broadcaster for the black and silver, joined Cattles & Ramie on Thursday afternoon to discuss the Oakland Raiders and preview the AFC West ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
Topics discussed included:
- Guard Denzelle Good retires. What’s the immediate impact on the Raiders?
- What does Josh McDaniels bring to the team and will things be different than when he coached in Denver?
- How high are expectations for Derek Carr?
- Does Davante Adams help Hunter Renfrow and Darren Waller
- Where are the question marks on the defensive side?
- The AFC West is a stacked division. If everything comes together, are they a Super Bowl contender?
