Official: Ricky Pearsall signs rookie deal with San Francisco 49ers

It took a little longer than expected, but at last, Ricky Pearsall has put pen to paper on his rookie deal with the 49ers.

Reports surfaced Thursday afternoon that the San Francisco 49ers and their first-round draft pick have finalized his rookie contract. The deal is for four years, with $12.5 million fully guaranteed over that time frame. With Pearsall’s signature, the entire 49ers’ 2024 draft class is now under contract.

ESPN’s Nick Wagoner was first with the news, as NBC Sports Bay Area’s Matt Maiocco confirmed thereafter. The team announced the signing Friday.

Pearsall, 23, is a five-year college player, spending three seasons at Arizona State University, before transferring to Florida for his final two years.

The Arizona native amassed 2,420 receiving yards, 159 catches, and 14 touchdowns in 55 games. Pearsall has the ability to play in a variety of roles, both on the outside and the slot. He is also well versed in special-teams, known as a dynamic punt returner.

Additionally, Pearsall was college teammates with Aiyuk at Arizona State, spending the 2019 season together. Five years later, the pair have been reunited in the NFL on the 49ers.

Ricky Pearsall has been quite impressive in his offseason showings so far, standing out IN both OTAs and mandatory minicamp. While the Red & Gold are loaded with offensive firepower, it’s likely that the rookie’s talent will be too much to keep him off the field in Year 1.
