On the heels of the Sacramento Kings’ first NBA Playoff appearance since 2006, expectations are high heading into the offseason.
While we wait for the NBA Draft and free agency process to begin in the coming weeks, let’s look back at some memorable Kings moments that took place on this date in the past.
May 15, 2003 – NBA Western Conference Semifinals – Game 6
Kings 115, Jazz 109 (Series tied 3-3)
While it seemed as if Chris Webber’s devastating knee injury would end Sacramento’s season, the Kings hit back in a big way during Game 6 as four players scored 20 points or more to force a Game 7 and send the series back to Dallas.
Peja Stojakovic scored 17 of his 24 points during the second half while also pulling down ten rebounds during Sacramento’s 115-109 win at ARCO Arena.
Vlade Divac scored 21 points during the win while shooting nine-of-17 from the field over 34 minutes.
Doug Christie stuffed the stat-sheet, scoring 20 points (10-of-11 from the free-throw line) to go along with nine rebounds, six assists, two blocks and one steal over 44 minutes.
Reigning Sixth Man of the Year award winner Bobby Jackson added 21 points off the bench, while Jim Jackson posted a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double.
