Tim Montemayor, PAC-12 reporter and host of The Monty Show on YouTube, joined Sactown Sports to talk about the recent news involving the conference.

According to ESPN, the University of Colorado is set to leave the Pac-12 for the Big 12 conference after the 2023-24 season. USC and UCLA have also committed to switching conferences, leaving the Pac-12 for the Big Ten in 2024.

“I’m not shocked at all,” Montemayor said. “When you look at Colorado, we’ve been hearing about this for months and months.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • What happens if the Pac-12 disappears?
  • Where did things go wrong for the Pac-12 and could it have been saved?
  • Was a television deal ever on the table for the conference?
  • What happens with the Rose Bowl going forward?
  • Is there any good news or a surprise school that could join the conference?
