Raiders Cut QB Landry Jones

The Oakland Raiders held their first organized team activity on Tuesday while also signing tight end Erik Swoope. Oakland made their corresponding move on Wednesday by cutting sixth-year quarterback Landry Jones.
The Raiders signed Jones on March 26 as a free agent from the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was drafted in the fourth round by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2013 after starting all four years at Oklahoma.
In his six seasons with the Steelers, Jones threw eight touchdowns and seven interceptions in 19 career games as a backup to Ben Roethlisberger.
The move leaves the Raiders with three quarterbacks on their roster with starter Derek Carr being backed up by Nathan Peterman and Mike Glennon.
