In helping the Las Vegas Raiders get their second win of the season Monday, defensive end Maxx Crosby also earned himself a little recognition.
Crosby has been named the AFC’s Defensive Player of the Week after a strong showing against the Green Bay Packers. On Monday night, the 26-year-old defender recorded five tackles, four of which were for a loss, and one sack. That was the most tackles for a loss in Week 5 and he currently is tied for first in tackles for a loss since arriving in the NFL in 2019.
With the honors, Maxx Crosby becomes the first Raiders player ever to earn four Defensive Player of the Week honors.

In five games, he’s racked up five sacks, 18 solo tackles, 28 combined tackles, and eight tackles for a loss.
After Monday’s win, coach Josh McDaniels praised his defender’s consistency and leadership.
“Maxx [Crosby] does it every day with his effort, his work, how much he cares about every little detail relative to the football team, his teammates, his body, practice. And then he gives it everything he has, every single time he’s out there. And he never comes off the field, as you know. So, tremendous leadership,” McDaniels said.
The AFC also recognized Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase as its Offensive Player of the Week and New York Jets kicker Greg Zuerlein as its Special Teams Player of the Week.
