Twelve players were traded on the NFL’s trade deadline day. The most moves made on the deadline in the past 30 years.
And while the Las Vegas Raiders made moves during the season, the team was quiet on Tuesday.

General manager Dave Ziegler spoke to the media Wednesday about why the team didn’t make any moves in the flurry of action. He said there were “tons of conversations,” but didn’t find the right fit to make any moves.
“The way that this works when you’re going through this process, we talk to all 31 teams over the course of two weeks,” Ziegler said. “And so, we had a lot of conversations during that time, and then it kind of always comes down to the day before and the day of the trade deadline. And yeah, we had talks about some different players on some different teams that could help us in different spots. At the end of the day, the value has to equate for you. You put a value on a player and what you’re willing to give up. You can make mistakes when you get over-aggressive and you’re just doing something to do something. At the end of the day, the value didn’t fit for us, and nothing worked out.”
Through eight weeks of the 2022 season, only five teams have more than six wins, with the Buffalo Bills being the only team in the AFC with that total. Because teams still have a chance to break out, Ziegler thought there were more buyers at this year’s deadline.
“We looked at some things to help improve the team, I’d say, in different ways,” Ziegler said. “And again, those didn’t materialize, but at the same time we’re excited about the group that we have. We’re excited to continue to learn about the group that we have, and again, identify people and players that we can continue to build with.”
