According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Las Vegas Raiders found their newest head coach as they are in the process of finalizing a contract with Josh McDaniels.
McDaniels currently acts as the New England Patriots’ offensive coordinator and has been coaching in the NFL since 2002. The 45-year-old was head coach of the Denver Broncos during the 2008 and 2009 seasons, compiling an 11-17 record over 28 games.
Shortly following the report of McDaniels’ impending hire, the Raiders announced that they have hired Patriots director of player personnel Dave Ziegler as their new general manager. Ziegler will replace Mike Maycock after the former was fired earlier this month.
A big offseason awaits Ziegler as he looks to add onto the momentum created by a 2021 Raiders team that went 10-7 qualified for the playoffs for the first time since 2016.
