Ray Ratto, formerly of 95.7 The Game and current writer for the Defector, joined Chris & Co. Friday with Kyle Draper and Kyle Madson to discuss the A’s attempting to leave Oakland.

The question we ask every guest when discussing the Athletics is whether or not there’s a chance they stay in Oakland. So, what does Ray think?

“There’s an excellent shot because Vegas could fall through and they could be back at square one again,” Ratto told Sactown Sports, adding cities are starting to get smart to stadium deals. “I don’t know if there’s a city in America that’s aching to have a new ball team based on the amount of money that city would have to lay out to get it.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • How the relocation from Oakland to Las Vegas has turned into a cluster
  • Why there are not enough people in Sacramento interested in building a stadium for “any baseball team, let alone the A’s.”
  • Is John Fisher working against himself?
  • What are the chances Fisher ends up selling the team?
  • Last year, the Oakland A’s made in profit $62 million with “the product they were trotting out there.”
