The Josh Jacobs era in Las Vegas has come to an end.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the Green Bay Packers plan to sign Jacobs. The terms of the deal were not immediately released.
“The Raiders have confidence in Zamir White, and they’ll likely draft one now,” Rapoport said on social media, adding the Packers also informed running back Aaron Jones that he will be released.
The stunner. The #Raiders have confidence in Zamir White, and they'll likely draft one now. Meanwhile, the #Packers added a franchise back. https://t.co/0jkImEfBM3

The last two years for Josh Jacobs in Las Vegas have been up and down. In 2022, he led the NFL in rushing yards with 1,653. He also had 12 rushing touchdowns and 400 receiving yards, finishing that year with more than 2,000 yards from scrimmage. Jacobs took home his first All-Pro selection of his career, along with his second Pro Bowl nod.
Then the hold-out happened. Jacobs missed last season’s training camp and most of the preseason as he negotiated a new deal with Las Vegas. He would eventually return on a one-year deal, but was not the running back he was the prior year, recording only 1,101 yards and missing four games due to injury.
Selected 24th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Oakland Raiders, Jacobs ran for 5,545 yards while a member of the Silver & Black. He also caught 197 receptions for 1,448 yards and scored 46 total touchdowns.
