The NFL’s negotiating period for free agents began Monday and the Las Vegas Raiders made a big splash off the bat.
According to reports, the Silver & Black plan to sign defensive tackle Christian Wilkins. NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport posted on X that the deal is for four years worth $110 million, including $84.75 million of that guaranteed.
Wilkins was selected 13th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft by the Miami Dolphins. In five seasons with the Dolphins, he’s recorded one interception, 19 passes defended, four forced fumbles, 20.5 sacks, and 355 tackles. For the last three seasons, he played all 17 games for Miami.
Last season was his best in Miami with a career-high nine sacks and two fumble recoveries. Before joining the NFL, he was able to win two National Championships with Clemson in 2016 and 2018.
Christian Wilkins will have a chance to face off against his former team in 2024 when the Raiders travel to Miami to take on the Dolphins.
