Free agent cornerback Marcus Peters is visiting the Las Vegas Raiders. Vic Tafur of The Athletic first reported the news Monday.
Adding a veteran to the team’s secondary could help improve the defense from last season. In 2022, the Raiders allowed 24.6 points per game, the seventh-most in the league. Their secondary allowed the highest passer rating and the third-highest completion rating.
The 30-year-old Oakland native spent the last three years with the Baltimore Ravens, however, he missed the entire 2021 season after tearing his ACL during practice prior to the start of the football year. He returned in Week 2 of the 2022 season.
In his career, Peters has recorded 336 tackles, two sacks, 32 interceptions and 12 forced fumbles.
The Raiders have already signed David Long Jr. and Duke Shelley this offseason to bolster their secondary.
