Maxx Crosby made the Pro Bowl for the third straight year, but it looks like he won’t be able to play in Orlando.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, Crosby underwent successful surgery to “fix an issue with his bursa.”
Crosby posted a picture on social media from a hospital bed Wednesday. On his podcast, he also indicated he’ll eventually require thumb surgery.

In 2023, Maxx Crosby led the league with 23 tackles for a loss, his second year in a row leading the NFL in that category. The 26-year-old edge rusher finished the season tied for fifth in the league for sacks (14.5) with a 92 defensive grade from Pro Football Focus, the fifth highest of all defensive players. Crosby led the Raiders in quarterback hits (31) and quarterback pressures (50), too.
It’s even more impressive knowing he did all that with a knee injury he suffered in Week 2. And nine times this year, he played 100% of his team’s snaps.
