Prior to last season, Burfict signed a three year $38.68 million contract extension, which would begin this upcoming season. Oakland would be responsible for paying him $8.97 million for 2018-2019.
Burfict has a connection with new Raiders Defensive Coordinator Paul Guenther, whom he played for the past six seasons in Cincinnati.
Although being a very talented player, Burfict has a reputation as being one of the dirtiest in the league. Due to both injury and suspension, Burfict hasn’t played a full season since 2013.
