Are the Las Vegas Raiders angling to move up in the NFL Draft?
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Silver & Black are one of six teams to schedule meetings with LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels. Rapoport also lists the New England Patriots, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos as teams lined up to meet with Daniels.
Of those six teams, the Commanders, Patriots and Giants all sit within the top ten in the 2024 NFL Draft order. The Vikings, Broncos and Raiders are 11, 12, and 13th, respectively.
Depending on which mock draft you look at, Jayden Daniels could be the second name called on draft night. So in order to select him, the Raiders would have to move.

At the Annual League Meeting earlier this week, Las Vegas head coach Antonio Pierce told reporters his recruiting pitch to Daniels when he was with Arizona State was that the quarterback could eventually become a Heisman winner. And Daniels did just that, winning the award in 2023.
“One thing about him that I think separates the rest is his ability to run. He could run, and when you can run like that in SEC and put up those kinds of numbers, I think that translates very well,” Pierce said.
In his collegiate career, Jayden Daniels threw for 12,749 yards and 89 touchdowns while running for 3,307 yards and adding an additional 34 yards.
