The Las Vegas Raiders are adding another former 49ers coach to their team.
According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, Rich Scangarello is set to join the Silver & Black as their quarterbacks coach. The last time Scangarello was in the NFL was during the 2021 season as a quarterbacks coach for the San Francisco 49ers. The team has not yet announced the addition.
Earlier in February, the Raiders hired James Cregg as their new offensive line coach. Cregg also came from the San Francisco 49ers where he was an assistant offensive line coach.
In his return to the NFL, Scangarello is also returning to the AFC West. In 2019, he was the offensive coordinator for the Denver Broncos under then-coach Vic Fangio. He was also the offensive coordinator for the University of Kentucky in 2022 but was fired after just one season.
Pelissero added that Scangarello has most recently been assisting USC quarterback and potential number-one pick Caleb Williams.
