The Sacramento Kings have one remaining roster spot before training camp begins in October. They’ve looked at a handful of players recently but will now bring in 34-year-old forward Jae Crowder for some workouts.

According to FOX 40‘s Sean Cunningham, “free agent forward Jae Crowder will be working out with the Sacramento Kings this week… Like last month with Isaiah Thomas, Crowder will join roster players in town seeking on-court competition.”

The 6’6 forward played 50 games with the Milwaukee Bucks last season, where he averaged 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals on 42.2 percent from the field, 34.9 percent from three, and 72.2 percent on free throws.

Having spent 12 seasons in the NBA, Jae Crowder has been a significant member of multiple deep playoff runs and is known for his tenacious defense and efforts on the floor.

It will be interesting to see how much he has left in the tank at this point in his career, but the Kings should get a feel for that amidst his upcoming workouts.

When is the next Sacramento Kings offseason date of interest?

Now that we know when the Kings will suit up for their season-opener, we can look forward to October 24th for the Beam Team’s season-opening matchup against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Training camps will begin at the end of September, meaning there could still be a move or two up general manager Monte McNair’s sleeve to round out Sacramento’s roster before players report to Golden 1 Center.
