The 49ers also issued a statement Saturday night, listing him in serious but stable condition.
Original Story:
Reports emerged Saturday afternoon that San Francisco 49ers first-round pick Ricky Pearsall has been shot, but thankfully he is in stable condition.
According to Dion Lim of KGO-TV San Francisco, 49ers wide receiver Ricky Pearsall was shot during an attempted robbery at Union Square Saturday. Pearsall is reportedly in stable condition at this time. The 49ers’ draft pick was reportedly fired upon over his Rolex watch.
The suspect is in custody at this time.
Other reports have corroborated with Lim, citing that Pearsall and another person were shot in the incident. Both men are in stable condition at SF General Hospital. Pearsall was struck in the chest during a struggle with the assailant’s gun, while the other victim was stuck in the arm around the Geary & Grant area.
The 49ers pass-catcher was on his way to an autograph signing. The Arizona native gave the report to the police when they arrived on the scene.
