Original Story
The Las Vegas Raiders will play host to multiple players as NFL free agency kicks into its second week.
First, the offense. According to Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report, former Minnesota Vikings running back Alexander Mattison is set to visit the team.
Mattison was cut by the Vikings earlier this month. The Raiders are in the market for a starting running back after Josh Jacobs signed with the Green Bay Packers once free agency began. Las Vegas has running backs Ameer Abdullah and Zamir White on its roster.
At the NFL Combine, new general manager Tom Telesco said that the way the Raiders want to play, there won’t be a lead back.
“I don’t really see a lead-back type thing. You’ve got to have more than one, you need to have two, you need to have three,” Telesco said in February. “They all have different roles with the team. The way this game is played it’s hard to put that all on one person.”
Ahead of the 2023 season, the Vikings cut Dalvin Cook, making Alexander Mattison as Minnesota’s starting running back. Last season, he rushed for 700 yards on 180 attempts. His touchdowns came via receptions though, catching 30 balls for 192 and three scores.
In his five-year career, the California native rushed for 2,370 yards and scored 11 touchdowns.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Raiders are set to host former Buffalo Bills cornerback Tre’Davious White. According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, the former All-Pro and Pro Bowler will also visit the Rams this week.
After seven seasons with Buffalo, White was cut by the Bills earlier this offseason as he works his way back from a torn Achilles. The injury occurred in Week 4 of last season.
A first-round pick in the 2017 NFL Draft, White has been limited to just 10 games in the past two seasons. In his seven NFL seasons, he’s recorded 18 interceptions, 68 passes defended, five forced fumbles, and 311 tackles.
Key offseason dates for the Las Vegas Raiders
