The San Francisco 49ers are adding some juice to their wide receiver room, reportedly signing Anthony Miller to a one-year deal.
Reports surfaced Monday morning that the 49ers had signed Miller, adding some more firepower to an already-loaded group. The veteran pass catcher was added due to injuries at the position, with WR Danny Gray (SC joint sprain) the latest to go down.
NFL insider Jordan Schultz was first with the news Monday.

Miller, 28, is a former second-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Playing his first three seasons with the Chicago Bears, the University 0f Memphis standout racked up 1564 yards on 134 receptions. Unable to crack the Bears’ WR rotation further, he was traded to the Houston Texans in 2021. Packaged along with a 2022 seventh-round pick, Chicago received a 2022 fifth-round pick in the deal.
Miller didn’t last long in Texas however, playing in two games before being released.
A week later, the former standout found his way to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ practice squad. He was only elevated for one game with Pittsburgh that season. The player stayed on with the team for another year, before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury during 2022 training camp.
He was released from the Steelers June 20th of this year.
Now joining the Red & Gold, Anthony Miller will serve as training camp depth, possibly seeing the field for the team’s preseason finale against the Los Angeles Chargers Friday.
