Russell Baxter, football writer for Fansided and NFL SpinZone, joined Cattles & Ramie Tuesday to talk about the 49ers’ QB woes, if Sam Darnold is going to be the team’s starting signal-caller next season and how the rest of the NFL looks heading into the summer.

All that and more on Cattles & Ramie.

“I don’t know if I buy so much into Darnold’s hype. I mean, he’s obviously going to be in the mix for a team that underwent such quarterback turmoil last year,” Baxter said on the show Tuesday. “I think it’s tough to buy into what Darnold [brings]. Just going by his career numbers and career performances, he got off to a good start a couple of years ago with Carolina, but that was more with his legs than it was with his arm. He’s had that turnover pension at the two stops he’s made before there, so I guess to politely answer your question, not quite.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • Are you buying the Sam Darnold hype?
  • Are the 49ers unlucky at the QB position?
  • Can the Seahawks win the NFC West?
  • Could Frank Clark be heading back to Seattle?
  • Did the Eagles get better this offseason?
  • How competitive will the NFC East be next season?
