If you were hoping that the Sacramento Kings and Golden State Warriors would face off early in the season, you will get your wish.

According to Sactown Sports 1140’s Carmichael Dave, the Kings will open up the 2023-24 season on Wednesday, October 25th in Utah before returning home to face the Golden State Warriors at Golden 1 Center on Friday, October 27th.

The rematch of last season’s Western Conference First Round matchup will be broadcasted on ESPN in what is expected to be the first of 10 national TV games for Sacramento this year.

The highly-entertaining seven-game series between the Kings and Warriors could have been a starting point for a budding Northern California rivalry, and it appears that the NBA is leaning into that idea.

According to ESPN’s Ben Cafardo, April 30th’s Game 7 matchup between the two Northern California heavyweights brought in an average TV audience of 9.8 million, peaking at 11.9 million viewers at 3:00 PM PST–the start of the fourth quarter.

The Kings vs. Warriors playoff series was the most-watched first-round series ever for the NBA’s Disney platforms (ESPN and ABC).

Along with Sacramento’s home opener, the Kings will face Golden State in front of a national audience (TNT) on Tuesday, November 28th in both teams’ final game of the NBA In-Season Tournament’s Group Play stage.

You can check out the Kings’ full schedule for the In-Season Tournament here.

The NBA will release the entire 2023-24 regular season schedule at 12 PM PST on Thursday, August 17th. As soon as the schedule is out, be sure to head to SactownSports.com for the full Sacramento Kings schedule.
