As the holidays come to a close, the Sacramento Kings put a bow on their 21st annual Season of Doing Good.
From mid-November through the end of the year, the team partnered with local grocery chain Raley’s to invest in the community by spreading holiday cheer. Players, coaches, and members of the Kings organization donated their time to help distribute toys, clothing and food to area families.
“It’s great to give back to the community and to use our platform for doing good and our Season of Doing Good emphasizes that,” Sacramento Kings President of Business Operations John Rinehart said in a press release. “There’s no better time to give back to the community than the holidays to celebrate everything we’re thankful for.”
Chelsea Minor, Raley’s Executive Director of Community Impact and Public Affairs, added this work is more important now than ever before.
“The organizations and individuals supported this year were provided hope, nutritious food and experiences they will never forget,” Minor said.
Events included:
- Players, staff and volunteers kicked off the charitable season with the team’s annual Eat Like a King event, where over 200 meals were served to area families.
