The Sacramento Kings have finalized its roster for the 2022-23 regular season after waiving Sam Merrill on Saturday afternoon, per Keith Smith of Spotrac and ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
Former UC Davis Aggies forward Chima Moneke has secured a spot on an NBA active roster for the first time in his professional career after playing overseas since the 2018-19 season.
By waiving Merrill, Sacramento’s roster now stands at the NBA maximum of 15 (not counting two-way contract players Neemias Queta and Keon Ellis) as the team now will set its sights on Wednesday’s season-opening matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers at Golden 1 Center.
Forwards KZ Okpala and Chima Moneke and guard Matthew Dellavedova have secured the Sacramento Kings’ final roster spots to open the season, sources tell ESPN.

The Sacramento Kings have waived Sam Merrill, a league source tells @spotrac.
Sacramento will have $150K in dead money on their books for the season for Merrill. Because Merrill got more than $50K guaranteed, he's not eligible to play for Sacramento's G League team in Stockton.
