Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors stands on the court with his head down during their game against the Sacramento Kings during Game Two of the Western Conference First Round Playoffs at Golden 1 Center on April 17, 2023 in Sacramento

The Athletic’s Sam Amick joined The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross on Thursday morning to talk about how the Kings have been the aggressors over the Warriors, the decision that went into Draymond Green’s suspension and more.

“I got friends and colleagues in both of these markets in a pretty deep kind of way and I think everyone needs to just get back to covering this series. Yeah, the social media stuff is just silly. You guys know I’m from the Bay, but I’ve been here [in Sacramento] for a long time, so I feel like the kid from the divorced family, like ‘hey everybody get along here, calm down now’.”

Topics discussed include:

  • Is the Draymond Green controversy normal for a playoff series?
  • Diving into the Joe Dumars subplot and how it’s wild
  • Are the Warriors surprised they’re down 2-0 to the Kings?
  • Sabonis being labeled the Draymond role is surprising
  • What Draymond did with the fans played a big role in the suspension. “The league can’t have that.”
  • The league wouldn’t admit it, but Draymond punching teammate Jordan Poole may have played a role in the decision
  • Why Monte McNair may not win Executive of the Year because the team’s biggest recent move happened last season
