San Francisco 49ers’ Playoff Picture: Where do they stand after Week 13?
Dec 6, 2022, 8:30 AM
After thirteen weeks of football, the San Francisco 49ers sit alone atop the NFC West with a record of 8-4. Only the Seattle Seahawks have a chance to catch them the rest of the way, only a game behind San Francisco at 7-5.
The 49ers produced a statement win over the Miami Dolphins Sunday afternoon, defeating them 33-17. In a game that saw starting quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo go down with a broken left foot, the rest of the team stepped up, including rookie QB Brock Purdy.
In his first meaningful NFL action, the last pick in the 2022 NFL draft produced 210 yards passing, two first half touchdowns and one interception. He added an 88.5 passer rating to his performance Sunday.
It’s a lot to ask out of a rookie to take a team to the Super Bowl, but the 49ers are confident that their guy can lead them back to the promise land.
“He’s played against the best defense in the league for the past 13 weeks. He’ll be fine,” linebacker Fred Warner said postgame.
“In preseason he looked like he had some dog in him,” defensive end Nick Bosa added. “I love his mindset, he’s super tough. He’s not afraid to make mistakes. He gets playmakers the ball. He’s our guy now, so we got to roll.”
With that being said, let’s take a look at the Red & Gold’s playoff picture after Week 13.
