Joonas Donskoi Returns After Injury, Scores Winning Goal For Sharks

Thursday, December 14, the San Jose Sharks won against the Calgary Flames with the final score of 3-2.
San Jose Sharks forward Joonas Donskoi returned to last night’s game after recovering from a lower-body injury that he sustained from getting cross-checked during their game against the Philadelphia Flyers back on Nov. 28.
Timo Meier scored with 3:53 left in the first period with assistants from Joonas Donskoi and Chris Tierney. This tied the game after Flames’ Michael Frolik opened up the game with an unassisted goal at 4:42.
Second period held a successful power play shot from Chris Tierney, who was assisted by Kevin Labanc and Timo Meier. This allowed the Sharks to take their first lead of the game.
Johnny Gaudreau tied the game up once again during the third period with a goal at the 7:39 mark.
Donskoi scored the game-winning goal putting the Sharks ahead of Calgary within the last few minutes of third period.
The Sharks racked up 29 shots on-goal, going 1 for 3 on power plays. Calgary slapped 34 shots on-goal.
Aaron Dell recorded 32 saves in the net for San Jose and Mike Smith recorded 26 saves for the Flames.
