Sean Cunningham, sports reporter and producer for FOX40, joined Whitey & Watkins Wednesday to talk about the Sacramento Kings recently re-signing Skal Labissiere to a partially guaranteed deal.

Sean recently spoke with Skal about his return to Sacramento, with the 27-year-old forward/center saying he’s not the same person he once was and that he “had to mature.”

“Knowing his background a little bit, I think he had to grow up fast when he was young and I think now, being more comfortable in his own skin and his own body and looking around, being a competitive player, having moments that were bright spots as a Kings player, but then when he goes and has a setback with an injury and finds himself out of the NBA, was probably something he didn’t know how to react to,” Cunningham said. “I thought it was a really honest assessment of some of the things we talked about and it was a lot of fun to talk to him.”

Additional topics discussed include:

  • With the Kings bringing back Labissiere and Neemias Queta and going out and signing Nerlens Noel, is this an overreaction to last year’s big-man deficiencies?
  • Are the Kings still missing anything?
  • What’s the latest on Harry Giles and his attempts to return to the NBA?
