A general view as fans cheer during the third quarter in game seven of the Western Conference First Round Playoffs between the Golden State Warriors and the Sacramento Kings at Golden 1 Center on April 30, 2023 in Sacramento, California.

Sean Cunningham, sports reporter and producer for FOX40, joined Chris & Co. with Kyle Madson Monday afternoon to talk about the results of Game 7 between the Kings and Warriors, what’s next for Sacramento and more.

“They exceeded my expectations. First of all, what an incredible series,” Cunningham said. “I think we were all looking forward to a really entertaining series, we all thought it would be…and then not only was it, it exceeded expectations beyond that. It was such an emotional series, it was a great series that also had storylines, and each team experienced everything. I mean both teams won on their home floor, both teams won on the road, both teams experienced blowouts where they didn’t look like themselves, certainly, you had a whole bunch of drama along the way, as well. And even the storylines that could have been, like can you imagine if Harrison Barnes had hit that shot?”

Topics discussed include:

  • Sunday’s Game 7 loss was bittersweet
  • Why the Kings need a heartbreak like this to reach that next level
  • How much De’Aaron Fox’s finger was bothering him after he fractured it
  • It wasn’t long ago that the Warriors were in the Kings’ shoes
  • Did players like Domantas Sabonis and Kevin Huerter not show up or did the Warriors gameplan for them?
  • The Kings have “a hell of a decision” to make with Harrison Barnes this summer
  • “Someone like Sasha Vezenkov, who is factored into the equation of coming over and joining this team…as I’ve been told, he’s ninety percent in for coming to Sacramento.”
  • Rebounding is something the team is going to need to address this offseason
