A couple of old Oakland Athletics teammates are about to be reunited.
Per Jeff Passan of ESPN, Oakland catcher Sean Murphy has been traded to the Atlanta Braves.
After playing with the A’s since 2019, Murphy will join former teammate Matt Olson on his new team as the Gold Glove Award winners will once again play in the same infield.
In return for Murphy, the A’s will receive veteran right-handed pitchers Royber Salinas and Freddy Tarnok, catcher Manny Piña, and left-handed pitcher Kyle Muller from the Braves, while also receiving utility-man Esteury Ruiz from the Milwaukee Brewers.
Atlanta will send All-Star catcher William Contreras to the Brewers as part of the three-team deal.
