Senators’ Alexandre Burrows Fined For Roughing Sharks Defenseman

Ottawa Senators forward Alexandre Burrows has been fined $5,000, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement, for roughing San Jose Sharks defenseman Dylan DeMelo during the Sharks 5-0 win over their opponent on Dec. 9.
Steve Lloyd of TSN tweeted the news Sunday evening.

The incident occurred at 14:51 of the third period, when the Sharks were up 4-0. Burrows hit DeMelo with the butt-end of his stick, causing the defenseman to bleed.
Burrows was assessed a major penalty and game misconduct for fighting.
The money goes to the Players’ Emergency Assistance Fund.
