The San Francisco Giants have made a trade with the Toronto Blue Jays, acquiring pitcher Mitch White for cash considerations.
A 29-year-old San Jose native, White was drafted in 2016 by division rivals, the Los Angeles Dodgers. He made his big league debut in 2020 and was traded to Toronto two years later at the deadline.
White is 1-0 in his lone appearance for the Blue Jays this year. He has a career ERA of 4.99.

The Giants also announced they’ve moved Alex Cobb to the 60-day injured list. He’s eligible to return at the end of May.
After last season, Cobb underwent off-season hip surgery to “address his labrum and ongoing impingement issues.” Cobb was a force for the Giants early in the season, but injuries hampered the 36-year-old veteran for the second half of the season. He was shut down in September.
