Amidst the ongoing injury bug for the 49ers, at least George Kittle will be back on the practice field.
San Francisco 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan shared that the tight end will return to practice Wednesday. Kittle has been sidelined with hamstring tightness developed following Wednesday’s practice session last week. Intially believing it to be soreness, the continued tightness in the player’s leg caused the 49ers to be cautious.
After missing the rest of the practice week, Kittle was ruled out for Week 3 against the Los Angeles Rams.
In other injury news, wide receiver Deebo Samuel won’t practice Wednesday, as he continues to nurse a calf strain. He missed Week 3 as well due to injury.
Additionally, quarterback Brock Purdy (back) is expected to be a full participant at practice. He was added to the injury report following Week 3’s loss, but the team does not expect him to miss time.

Kittle, 30, is also a staple in the NFL community, both for his on-field performance and off-the-field personality. The People’s Tight End has rebounded from an injury-laden 2020 season to only miss eight contests combined since. In 2023, the University of Iowa alum had his second All-Pro season of his NFL career, recording 1,020 receiving yards and six touchdowns on 65 catches. He is a two-time All-Pro and a five-time Pro Bowler.
