The San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson announced on Twitter that the team will be without forward Joe Thornton for ‘several weeks’ due to damaged MCL.
Thornton suffered the injury during last nights game against the Winnipeg Jets, with a final score of 5-4 being a win for the Jets.
He is set to be taking an MRI to determine the extent of the injury and what type of surgery or treatment will be required to help aid the damaged MCL.
He revealed last spring that he played with torn ligament in his left knee and required surgery during offseason.
The damaged MCL just happens to be located in the opposite knee.
