Mark Kreidler, sports writer and author of “Four Days to Glory,” joined Whitey & Watkins Thursday to discuss the latest news in the world of baseball. And if you’re talking about baseball, you’re destined to talk about Los Angeles Angles star Shohei Ohtani.
When Whitey asked Mark if the San Francisco Giants have a legitimate shot at signing the two-way player this winter, he said he believes they do.
“I don’t necessarily think that they have a great shot but, if you look up and down the coast, anything that’s Pacific Rim accessible, which includes Seattle, is going to be in play for Ohtani. I’m not sure that he necessarily wants to go far away from the West Coast. I think his preference would be to stay out this way,” Kreidler said. “The fact that he was on the Giants’ shortlist in 2017 when he ultimately chose the Angels should you tell you a little.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Do any teams not on the West Coast have a shot at signing Ohtani?
- How high will the bids go for Shohei Ohtani?
- Have the Atlanta Braves been overlooked?
