The first award has come for the Sacramento Kings organization, and it’s going to Stockton.
General Manager Paul Johnson has been named the 2022-23 NBA G League Basketball Executive of the Year. He is the first executive in Stockton history to receive the award.
This past season, the Stockton Kings finished a regular-season best 25-7, earning them the number one seed and home-court advantage for the first time in team history for the playoffs.
In a statement, Johnson said it is an honor to be recognized by his peers in the NBA G League.
“This has been an incredibly exciting season in Stockton,” Johnson said. “I especially want to thank our front office, Anjali Ranadivé, Coach Bobby Jackson and the entire team for their hard work on and off the court.”
“Paul’s experience in evaluating and developing basketball talent, coupled with his innovative thinking and thoughtful approach to decision making, has been critical to the Stockton Kings success this season,” Sacramento Kings General Manager Monte McNair said in a press release. “He is an integral part of this organization and tremendously deserving of this recognition.”
