Mayor Steinberg joined the show this morning to relay updates on COVID-19 and much more
This morning on The Drive with Carmichael Dave and Jason Ross, Sacramento mayor Darrell Steinberg called in to enlighten the public on safety precautions and facts regarding the current COVID-19 outbreak.

Mayor Steinberg was kind enough to come on the show to talk about how he feels the city has handled this tumultuous time, what we can do to ensure thing continue to trend in a positive direction and more. On how he is handling working from home like so many others in the around the world, the Mayor shed light on what is keeping him motivated.
“I’m very proud of the city, the way we are standing up a lot of help and assistance for people and you know, for me, as long as I have that work and that purpose, I’m doing fine. I’m worried about the struggling businesses, the people who are unemployed, the folks who have really taken a hit as a result of the virus.”
The Mayor shared two large points of interest regarding the handling of the virus.
“One, in that we don’t ignore the fact that this virus is still out there. Secondly, focus all of our energy on recovery, economic recovery, helping people who are really hurting right now.”
On how the Sacramento area has fared in infection rates, Mayor Steinberg shared some uplifting news.
“We have the lowest infection rate per capita in the entire country for the region, not just the county. If we are going to come back faster–and I hope that we do–that we have to take every precaution to ensure that our goin forward does not get more people sick, have more people end up in hospitals, have more people die and then from the pure economic recovery view, that we don’t have to go backwards because we have a spike.”
