Trey Lyles says the Kings ‘aren’t satisfied’ as they close in on 2nd seed
Mar 7, 2023, 9:13 AM
Sacramento Kings forward Trey Lyles spoke to the media following Monday night’s 123-108 win over the New Orleans Pelicans.
The forward spoke about the team’s bounce-back win, shared his thoughts on playing at the five, and talked about the team’s mentality as they approach a top-four finish in the loaded Western Conference standings.
In his second season with the Kings, Lyles has been a staple for the second unit by posting 7.7 points and 3.8 rebounds per game while shooting 48 percent from the field and 38 percent from beyond the three-point line.
Lyles, who will become a free agent at the end of the season, has been one of the league’s best bargains at $2.5 million, and the veteran is making his case for a pay increase this summer. Over his last six appearances, Lyles is averaging 12.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game on 61 percent shooting (46 percent from deep).
