It’s fight week, fight fans. Not just in the UFC, but on the local circuit as well with regional bouts scheduled for Saturday night.

The owner of said fights, UFC legend and Sacramento favorite Urijah “The California Kid” Faber, stopped by The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross Friday morning to break A1 Combat 5 this weekend. Faber’s fights are packed with some of the best fighters not only in California, but across the globe as well.

The legend broke down the card and who he is most excited to see, as well as his transition from fighter to promoter, and much more with the guys.

Topics discussed include:

  • Fatherhood and its struggles
  • His healthy upbringing and how that impacts his family
  • How he stays in shape post-retirement
  • What’s tougher: A UFC fight or being a Dad?
  • His new promotion, A1 Combat, and what it’s like promoting other fighters
  • How different the fight game is now compared to when Faber started

The fights kick off from Hard Rock Live in Wheatland Saturday night. Doors open at 4 p.m. PST with the main card starting at 7 p.m. Tickets are available on the promotion’s website. The fights will also be steaming live on UFC Fight Pass.
