Another day, another massive NFL blockbuster.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Houston Texans have traded three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson to the Cleveland Browns.
Watson, who sat out the entire 2021 season while being under investigation for alleged sexual misconduct and harassment suits, waived his no-trade clause on Friday afternoon and will be heading to Cleveland.
Per the report, Watson will ink a new five-year, $230 million (fully guaranteed) contract.
Current Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield is expected to be traded before the beginning of the 2022 regular season, says Rapoport.
In return for Watson, the Texans will receive three first-round picks, a third-round pick, and a fourth-round pick from Cleveland.
During the 2020 season, Watson passed for a league-leading 4,823 yards and a career-high 33 touchdowns.
