ABC7’s Casey Pratt joined “The Carmichael Dave Show with Jason Ross” Tuesday morning to recap all of the Oakland Athletics news that came out over the weekend.
On top of that, Pratt provided some dates for fans to keep watch of. First, the Bally’s earnings call later this week. The ballpark renderings the A’s released in the summer of 2023 have been scrapped and no new renderings have yet to be released. Then, on March 8th and 9th is Big League Weekend in Las Vegas, pitting the Oakland Athletics against the Milwaukee Brewers in a spring training game.
“They initially said they were going to put out the renderings there after they postponed them yet again [in December]. If they don’t put out anything by Big League Weekend in March, this thing is probably not happening,” Pratt said.
Additional topics discussed include:
- What is John Fisher’s current goal and path?
- Oakland Athletics could lose up to $70 million a year if they lose their television deal
- Chances are “very high” of the A’s staying in Oakland
- John Fisher says he will spend more on the team once they move to Las Vegas, but he’s said that before in Oakland
- Where has Oakland failed in this process?
- Is there a path for Joe Lacob to even buy the team anymore?
- Do any other owners or even Commissioner Rob Manfred want the A’s to stay in Oakland?
- The A’s need to have an answer for where they’ll play before the 2024 MLB schedule is released in July
- Fans putting together their own team fest this Saturday, Feb. 24, at Jack London Square
