Sacramento Monarchs Legend Yolanda Griffith Joins The Jason Ross & Doug Christie Show

The former WNBA Champion and Olympic Gold Medalist joined the show to discuss current events, her career in Sacramento and much more!

Eight-time WNBA All-Star and two-time Olympic Gold Medalist Yolanda Griffith joined the Jason Ross and Doug Christie show this week to discuss a variety of topics.

Griffith, who played for the Sacramento Monarchs from 1999-2007, won the WNBA Most Valuable Player Award and Defensive Player of the Year Award in 1999 when she averaged 18.8 points, 11.3 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.9 blocks per game for the Monarchs.

The former number-two overall pick in the 1999 WNBA Draft is widely known as a Sacramento sports legend, helping lead the Monarchs to a WNBA title in 2005 while claiming Finals MVP honors.

Over her 11 seasons in the league, Griffith holds career averages of 13.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, 1.7 steals and 1.0 blocks per game over 311 contests.

Griffith was a member of the United States Women’s Basketball Team, winning Gold Medals during the 2000 and 2004 Summer Olympics. The former Florida Atlantaic Owl was inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2014.
