The Las Vegas Raiders and quarterback Derek Carr have agreed on a three-year extension that will run through the 2025 season, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Per the report, Carr’s extension will be worth $121.5 million over three seasons, making Carr one of the highest-paid players in the NFL.

Carr, 31, led the Raiders to a 10-7 record and AFC Wild Card berth in 2021 behind a season that saw the Fresno native pass for 23 touchdowns and a career-high 4,804 yards.

Before the extension, Carr was about to enter the final season of his current contract after eight seasons in the black and silver. Not only has Carr been under center for the Raiders since 2014, but he is also the franchise’s all-time leader in passing yards (31,700) and touchdown passes (193).

The three-time Pro Bowler will now get a chance to link up with former Fresno State teammate Davante Adams after Las Vegas traded for the talented wide receiver on March 18th.

Following the Denver Broncos’ move to acquire nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson, the Raiders have locked in their own quarterback while also bringing in arguably the best receiver in the NFL.

Between Carr, Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and Justin Herbert, there’s going to be plenty of firepower under center in the AFC West this season.
