Reporter for KTLA 5, Rahshaun Haylock, joined Ramie and JJ Wednesday to talk about the San Francisco 49ers’ 2023 offseason, rookie minicamp takeaways, and the state of the quarterback room heading into OTAs. Plus, could Sam Darnold be QB1 to start the season?
All that and more on Cattles & Ramie.
“I think it’s a real thing,” Haylock said on the show. “I think Sam Donald is here for a reason. And this is something on the [podcast] we kind of spitballed about prior to his departure from the Jets. About him coming to the Niners, [allowing] Kyle Shanahan [to] kind of get his hands on him. We’ve talked for years about how Kyle is sort of this ‘quarterback whisperer’ of sorts, how he’s able to get certain things out of that position. And Darnold certainly fits the bill, in terms of what he was looking for prior to [the 49ers] drafting Trey Lance.”
Additional topics discussed include:
- Are there takeaways from the rookie minicamp this year?
- Where is the Sam Darnold hype coming off?
- Could Sam Darnold be the starter in 2023?
- Rayshaun Haylock thoughts on Drake Jackson?
- Is WR Jahcour Pearson a candidate to make the roster?
- Thoughts on Nuggets-Lakers Game 1
