The Sacramento Kings announced Tuesday that former big man Caleb Swanigan died at the age of 25.

The former Purdue Boilermaker was drafted 26th in the 2017 NBA draft by the Portland Trailblazers. He played for Portland from 2017-2019 before being traded to the Sacramento Kings. The Kings would trade him back to Portland in a package deal with Trevor Ariza for Kent Bazemore, Anthony Tolliver and two future second-round picks.

“We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Caleb Swanigan. He will be remembered as a great teammate and friend. Our hearts are with his family during this incredibly difficult time,” the Sacramento Kings said in a press release.

In his two seasons at Purdue, Swanigan set the school’s total rebounds record, which still sits at 436 total. He averaged 14.4 points and 10.4 rebounds before going pro.
