Wilmer Flores is here to stay.

According to the New York Post’s Joel Sherman, the San Francisco Giants and Flores have reached an agreement on a two-year extension that will run through the 2024 season with a mutual option for 2025.

Flores, 31, has been with the Giants since signing with the organization prior to the start of the 2020 season.

The 10-year veteran has tied his career-high of 18 home runs in 2022 to go along with a career-highs in runs batted in (65), runs scored (66), doubles (26), and walks (49).

Over 326 appearances with San Francisco, Flores holds a .251 batting average, .324 on-base percentage, and .446 slugging percentage. The utility man has mashed 48 home runs, 53 doubles, and driven in 150 runs during 1,172 plate appearances.

Flores brings a ton of versatility to the Giants roster by being able to play all around the infield, having logged innings at first base, second base, and third base during his time in the orange and black.

Now that the Giants have Flores locked in for the future, he will join Brandon Crawford, Thairo Estrada, Tommy La Stella, and J.D. Davis in the fold for 2023. San Francisco holds a $13 million team option on third baseman Evan Longoria this offseason, one that is widely predicted to be declined by the organization.
