Golden State Warriors Sign Jordan Poole, Andrew Wiggins To Contract Extensions
Over the weekend, the Golden State Warriors announced contract extensions for forward Andrew Wiggins and guard Jordan Poole.

The Golden State Warriors are moving past recent controversies and looking toward their future.
Over the weekend, the defending NBA champions announced two contract extensions.
The team announced an extension for forward Andrew Wiggins. The terms of the extension were not included in the team’s press release, but according to NBA.com, the deal is for four years and worth up to $109 million. Wiggins joined the Warriors during the 2019-20 season in a trade that saw the Warriors move guard D’Angelo Russell in exchange for Wiggins and a 2021 first-round pick. That pick would eventually become Jonathan Kuminga.
Since joining the team, Wiggins has earned his first All-Star game appearance. Last season, he started all 73 games, averaging 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists and 1.04 steals in 31.9 minutes.

The team then extended guard Jordan Poole.
Poole, who was at the center of recent Warriors news, also received a four-year contract extension. According to NBA.com, Poole’s deal is worth up to $140 million. The extension prevents Poole from becoming a restricted free agent next summer.
The 23-year-old guard averaged 18.5 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 4 assists last season.
“He’ll be an important part of our future core and success, much like he was during last year’s run to the NBA championship,” Warriors Executive Vice President/General Manager Bob Myers said in the team’s press release.
